What an evening! The kick-off of the MetalBC in TivoliVredenburg was exactly what we wanted it to be: inspiring, accessible and useful for your network.
We started with a walk-in, where you could get acquainted with your fellow members, while enjoying a drink and an excellent playlist in the background.
The official part, after a brief introduction by Tom Schilders, was immediately action-oriented, as we got to work around the bar tables in 10 groups averaging 9 people. Everyone was given the opportunity to briefly introduce themselves to the rest of the group and then it was time to work together, because the assignment was: come up with a slogan for the MetalBC that includes at least one core value. The results were very surprising and sharp!
Everyone present was naturally very curious about what the MetalBC will bring its members in 2024. Richard Theuws and David Brinks told us about that. There are already dozens of events planned, from offline network meetings to online variants, from company visits to a barbecue, a pinball outing and even a real congress! In addition, the MetalBC has already made agreements with festival organizations to organize networking meetings at festivals, leading to possible tax benefits if you buy tickets to these festivals through the MetalBC. We will also start regional clusters in February, meeting physically and online to network. In short, 2024 will be the year when it all becomes real!
After a short break, it was the turn of our keynote speaker Bertus from Schorem Hair Cutter and Barber. And if you thought beforehand “What can such a hip barber tell me about entrepreneurship?” you were horribly wrong. What an inspiring story, with rock’n’roll dripping like lard!
At the end there was an informal networking reception, where plenty of new contacts were made, people were introduced to each other and search questions were asked. Just the way we like it.
Thanks to everyone who attended and of course to Schorem Hair Cutter and Barber for the great keynote!
