We offer tickets for several festivals, including Graveland, Into The Grave, Pitfest, Hellmond Open Air and Dynamo Metalfest. At those events there is, of course, MetalBC activity as well. (PS, tickets are only available to members, so only visible if you are logged in)
If you buy tickets for business, you can reclaim the VAT (21%) and thus pay the price excluding VAT anyway.
Since you pay the tickets from your company, the minimum benefit you get is the income tax you would normally pay (36.97% up to 75,518 euros, above that it is 49.5%).
This therefore ‘costs’ your ticket a maximum of 63.03% of the price excluding VAT, compared to a privately bought ticket.
However, you can gain even more benefit by booking your ticket for a business event as a representation expense. Of this, 80% is deductible from your pre-tax turnover (73.5% if you fall in the high rate), and since you have made the purchase on a business basis, you therefore do not pay income tax on the purchase.
Calculation example
To clarify what this means for the cost of your ticket, we have listed what buying a ticket privately means compared to a business purchase. This calculation is indicative and based on Dutch taxes. For convenience, I have worked with round figures for both income (1000 euros) and ticket price (100 euros).
As you can see below, your benefit at the low income tax rate is almost 50%.
In the high tax rate, the benefit is even slightly greater!

It is always wise to make clear to your bookkeeper/accountant what the Metal Business Club is: we are a networking club that organizes business meetings. Both on and around events as well as separately. We keep our own records and in case of questions we can prove what kind of meeting we have organized and who attended. In addition, (in most cases) only our members can order tickets through us. It is not a problem if you also buy tickets for guests.
